Harm Reduction Symposium (March 23 & 24)

2. Methodological Focus of the Month:
Data Collection Using Audio and Video Diaries: A Systematic Review Rosa Knight (3 rd year medical student at DMNB) will share the process and findings of a systematic review on the use of audio and video diaries as a qualitative data collection strategy to explore participants’ health care experiences.

3. Hot Topic: Essentials of Informed Consent
There are many aspects to consider when planning for informed consent, such as what is meant by informed consent and what is required to be included in a consent form. Questions often arise as to what information needs to be provided to participants and what happens if a participant wishes to withdraw from a study. Dr. Lisa Best (Psychology) will lead a discussion on the essentials for planning and managing informed consent.

4. Odds ‘n’ Sods
 Point in Time (PiT) Homeless Count – Mary MacKinnon will speak briefly to this initiative coming up in mid-March, and be available to meet anyone interested in participating in the count after this session.
